Every body is welcome.
Yes—absolutely. Exercise should never be painful. If you're working with a past or lingering injury, limited range of motion, or any movement limitations, we’ll provide personalized modifications to help you move safely and confidently.
We’re here to meet you where you’re at and make sure you can participate without pain, while continuing to build strength and progress at your own pace.
Note: If you're currently recovering from a new or acute injury, we recommend checking in with your healthcare provider before jumping into class.
That's a great question that we get asked often.
If you're looking to build a new fitness routine, the most important thing is to ensure you give yourself time to recover.
Your body might not be used to the movements, and it's normal to feel sore. But we don't want you so sore you can't go about your week normally.
So, after your first class - see how your body recovers. For most it's between 1-2 days. From there, you can build up to a greater frequency, with your body's cues leading the way.
Do not. I repeat, do not, go from 0 workouts/week to 3, 4+++. This puts your body at risk of injury, and neglects the importance of the three pillars of recovery: rest (sleep!) and nutrition.
Yes — Recess Fit Club is proudly queer-affirming and inclusive.
What that means in practice:
We welcome all gender identities and sexual orientations.
We actively work to create a space that’s respectful, safe, and affirming.
You’ll find instructors and members who reflect a wide range of lived experiences.
There’s no tolerance for discrimination, and no pressure to fit into gym stereotypes.
We also run Queer Workout Club, a course designed specifically to support and celebrate LGBTQIA2S+ members in community.

If a class is full, you can join the waitlist — and we recommend it!
If a spot opens, the system will automatically add the next person in line and you’ll get an email confirmation.
If you’re moved in and can’t make it, just cancel with at least 3 hours’ notice.
Keep an eye on your email (and app, if you use it) — waitlist moves can happen right up until class time.
You can cancel up to 3 hours before class to receive your credit back—except for 7AM classes, which must be cancelled by 9PM the night before.
We designed it this way because we understand that life happens, but also want to give fellow members a fair shot at getting into class—especially for those early mornings.

As we grow and move into a larger space, we hope to offer open gym access in the future.
