PRIVACY POLICY

Recess Fit Club Inc. (“Recess Fit Club,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your data. By using our services, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information as outlined below.

1. DATA COLLECTION

We collect personal information necessary to provide our services, including but not limited to:

  • Name, contact information, and payment details.
  • Health disclosures relevant to fitness participation.
  • Booking history and preferences.

 

This data is collected when you register, book services, or communicate with us.​

2. DATA USAGE

Your personal information is used to:

  • Manage bookings and class participation.
  • Process payments securely.
  • Communicate updates, schedule changes, and service-related information.
  • Improve our services and customer experience.
  • Comply with legal or regulatory requirements.

3. DATA SECURITY

We implement security protocols to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Sensitive information, such as payment details, is processed securely through Stripe, our trusted third-party payment processor that is connected directly to our booking platform Walla.

4. DATA SHARING

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Information may be shared with trusted service providers (e.g., payment processor Stripe) only to fulfill the services you have requested.

5. SMS COMMUNICATIONS

SMS Consent

By providing your mobile number and opting in, you consent to receive text messages from Recess Fit Club regarding updates, promotions, appointments, and other communications you request. Standard message and data rates may apply.

We send 3 types of SMS communications:

(a) Transactional Updates –   System-generated messages related to your activity, such as:

  • bookings, cancellations, or reservation changes made by you;
  • cancellations made by the Recess team,
  • booking reminders; and
  • waitlist notifications.

(b) Marketing Updates  – Occasional communications sent to you based on your service interests.

(c) Two-way text – You can reply back to any of the text messages we send to you as the number is two-way. 

SMS Opt-Out

If you wish to stop receiving SMS messages, reply “STOP” or “UNSUBSCRIBE” to any message. After opting out, you will no longer receive further text messages unless you opt back in. Should you wish to opt back in, you will need to update your communication preferences when logged in by navigating to your profile in Walla.

SMS Data Sharing

Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in information and consent will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

6. EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS

Our system sends two types of email communications:

(a) Transactional Updates  System-generated messages related to your activity, such as:

  • confirmation of bookings and cancellations made by you;
  • confirmation of bookings, cancellations or changes made by the Recess team,
  • reminders,
  • waitlist notifications;
  • purchase confirmations and receipts
  • notifications about credit card expiry, failed payments
  • confirmations of requests to cancel a subscription; confirmations of a subscription cancellation; confirmation of a subscription pause

Many of these notifications 

These are always sent by email with no option to unsubscribe. For SMS notifications, you may elect to unsubscribe.

(b) Marketing Updates  Occasional communications sent to you based on your service interests, for example:

  • notification of new dates for programs
  • invitations to community events and workshops
  • group fitness class newsletters
  • branded merchandise promotion

 

You can learn more and manage your preferences anytime either within the Walla app (which is white-labelled in the Google Play and Apple App store as ‘Recess Fit Club’), or by clicking the ‘set preferences’ link at the very bottom of each email we send to you via Walla.

7. YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request corrections if your data is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Withdraw consent for data usage where applicable (note: this may affect access to services).

8. DATA RETENTION

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to provide services or comply with legal obligations. Once no longer needed, data is securely deleted or anonymized.

9. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

Recess Fit Club reserves the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes will be communicated via our website or booking system. Continued use of our services after changes are made constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
